I would say GMAT is for sure very important especially most of Chinese applicants have very high scores. More than 720 will be a safe score. And also essay is crucial as well. Usually you should have at least 3 years working experience, but I know some NYU Stern MBAs who have less than 3 year w/e but they usually work for famous companies or have very special stories. GPA will not that important though, but definitely you should have at least over 3.0. I would say around 3.4 of GPA is a safe level. Recommendation is also important. If you could find alumni to write recommendation letter for you, and of course this person knows you well, the chance for you to be admitted would be increased a lot, even your scores are not very impressive. If you have 700+ GMAT, 3.4+GPA, 3+ years w/e, and plus well-written essays and recommendation, you would quite possibly receive interview invitation. Stern admission officer will fly to Beijing each year around late-Feb to mid-March to conduct interview. If you get the invitation, the final admission would be 30% to 50%. No interview, no admission. |
