没有这回事吧？我认识的人中，HBS的就一个，B-School PhD的可不少。

The acceptance rate of MBA @ HBS is about 14%. The acceptance rate of a PHD @ a regular business school is way below 10%. The competition to get in a phd program @ a top business school is even fiercer. Generally speaking, a PHD candidate, in most cases, will be trained to teach MBA students in the future. The standard for such a candidate therefore is higher than that for an mba candidate.

You mentioned that many of your friends are phd candidates but not harvard MBAs. Well, MAYBE it is because only one of your friends applied for HBS, and he got in; but five of your friends applied for phd programs, three of them got in.

改换职业是MBA的一个目的。上周去参加芝加哥大学商学院在西岸的巡回展时GSB的主任问有多少人是准备change career时，我看到四五十人当中有80%都举了手。问题是首先你要自己要说服自己为什么要转职业，商学院的家伙都经验丰富，你要是自己都不知道，那就很难让那帮人相信了。

那是不是说，change career的理由也许有点风险？是不是读完后，回去原来的公司继续服务会好点？

个人认为转化职业根本就是MBA的基本目的之一,所以大不必遮遮掩掩,但既然有了目标,也一定要有比较合理的步骤如何完成Career change,或者是学校的课程,Student Club,甚至Reputation都应该可以写进ESSAY里面去,比如偶本来是Industry但想毕业后去IB,那如果申请CHICAGO的话,发挥的地方就可以有很多.
