Does a Green Card help MBA application?

Have been in the US for 5 years and just got my green card. Anyone knows whether being a permanent resident helps MBA application at all? Just curious. Thanks a bunch.

I think there could be a little help but not much. Frankly speaking, it is easier for people holding green card to find a job after graduation in the USA because you do not need H1B sponsorship.

不知道是否算有帮助，但是有些学校（至少在MIT的网站看到），绿卡学生是单独计算的，它的类别分为国际学生、美国公民和永久居民，我想这三个项的学生是按一定比例单独录取的。如果和你竞争的永久居民的水准都非常高，那么你也没占便宜。

holding a green card positions you in the domestic pool, which is supposingly easier than the international pool. however, being an asian means you are in a overrepresented population. The challenge might more or less be the same.

Pumpkin is definitely right that green card definitely help you to get the job muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch easier. And if you happen to live in the states that have very good public universities, you also pay the state tuition if you attend those schools. (michigan, NCU etc.)

Thanks all. Guess you guys are correct -- probably less tuition for public schools (unfortunately there is no one I'm interested in), and more or less the same competition.
