Rumor says women tend to have a slight advantage over men in applications. However, I think any advantage of being female will probably be canceled out by the fact that you're Asian. (Asian is considered over-represented in bschool applications, thus it's a far more competitive group than others).

Thanks for all replies . I think I may need to address my thought more detail.

I worked in Lenovo in Beijing when I first started. I left there 2 years after, coz I did't really like that kind of company -- slow-paced and bureautic. Then I went to another U.S. supply chain management company, which they claim themselves the 3rd biggest in the U.S. hehe. It's kind of true, but you know except the top companies, who knows those names?? 1 year after that I got a job offer in a start-up company in the US, then I came here. I am going to switch again to another financial service company, but I will still do technical work .

As we all know the fact in China is what you learn in college pretty much decide what you can do afterwards. I hope I could do non-technical things, but the chances are very slim .....Now I plan to apply with my pure technical background. Until now I don't see any advantage of me over others . Average w/e, average gmat score, average age, average GPA, average everything..... I really like to hear more suggestions. Thanks......

你是如何在中国找到那家start-up company in the US的?

Just asking cause I am also looking for chances to work in US while I am now in China.  BTW, if you are good at coding, I dont think you need MBA to be a manager or sth. Few managers in software Dev have MBA, experiences plays the biggest role.  If you wish to further your studies, a master in computer science/engineering might be better.
