1For those businesses and companies that are in the service industries, such as Mc donald's, the formality in dress and behavior is really very important. The dress and conduct in the workplace, say in this case the chain of Mc donald's, will affect the consumers' evaluation of the whole company a lot, and the consumers' appraisal will derectly determine whether they will choose to in Mc donald's or not. For those consulting companies, the formality is also very important. The first impression does a lot to the final decision of the clients about which company to choose.
2For the companies that are not in the service industry and necessitate the creativity, formaility in the workplace is not that important. Casual dress and conduct are good for the formation of inspiration.
3Whether informality can be allowed or not is not an either-or choice. The answer depends on the certain circumstances. In my opinion, profit is the only criterion. If the informality can increase morale and productivity, then, it is quite ok to allow it, or vice versa.
