I understand why A, B, and D are faulty. But OG believes C is wrong becuase it violates parallelism. However, to me, C is logical and parallel.

those 指代 most parts of Sri Lanka's rains

同意楼上的，those与之平行的应该为主句的主语。而主语应该为第一个名词，后面都是修饰parts的。

为什么those of US就不能指代rains?

most parts of Sri Lanka’s rains 是很绕, 那正确表达应该是什么呢?

因为从语法上来说，most parts of Sri Lanka’s rains 中的后面来修饰parts还算正常，这种主属关系比较清楚。但如果是rains为主语的话，那就是most parts of Sri Lanka’s rains，如何解释其意思呢？Sri lanka的大部分地区的雨？这样的话我认为它的所有格表达含糊不清，肯定是不符合语法要求的。

如果parts为主语，我认为most parts of Sri Lanka’s rains就不绕了，很清楚：Sri Lanka’s rains中的大部分。

个人意见，请大家看看！！

大家有没有注意到E中in the US, 是做全句状语的，那么就会产生这样的歧异E：In the US, ......, but in most parts of SL the rains are concentrated in....在美国的疆域里，大部分的SL的雨....

就象og133A: In Holland, a larger percentage of the gross national product is spent on defense of their coasts from rising
seas than is spent on military defense in the United States.

而OG的解释是：Since In Holland modifies all of the sentence that follows, A states confusedly that Holland spends a percentage of its
gross national product on military defense in the United States.

难道在OG133里修饰全句的状语到了OG193中就不修饰全句了？还是因为OG193中多了but把全句分隔开了？
