答案选的是d，但是我觉得c其实更符合原句的，但是按照以前大家讨论的能用动词最好的结果，感觉相当的不保险且很模糊，因为很多题目不一定有动词就不选名词，请教大家这题有没有其他的判断方法？

be+adj一般比be+介词+名词好。后者，目前，我所见，都被批斗成aukward

但是这不等于将来不会出现啊？！

还有没有其他的判断方法呢？还没有作过gwd，不过听说里面很多都是要通过"ets prefer"做最终判断，不知道是不是这样？

动词优于名词的原因是用的字少，呵呵.

were isolated 和were in isolation都是一个意思，但是字数少，符合ETS的简洁原则。

虽然isolated可以做形容词，但这里应该算作是动词的被动态。按ETS所说的，要是用被动，就要给出动做的实施者，那这里谁是isolated的实施者呢？而且，后面有longer，我觉得时表示一种状态，那么用in isolation是不是比动词更好呢？

当然，如果按ETS说的，是习惯用法，那就没什么好说的。问题是，除了习惯用法，c和D能否区分开？
