我担心后来者，不知道以前讨论过此题，会重复发贴提问，故此先发上来。

此题答案给的是B，但鄙人认为是E。

此题偶选B.

偶认为A 与E 中，99 percent of what 没提出，不明确。另偶没看见过99 percent作主语的。( 有可能孤漏寡闻)

D错。因为them指代模糊。

C中，若是因主语长而倒装。那么，..........creatures are vanished是否对呢？

B 对。因为简洁，明了。

我认可B,百分比就是这样的用法.但是我与老外讨论了一下,觉得他的说法也有道理.他选了E,因为他觉得

1.B拗口,两个OF;

2.OF THE FIVE HUNDRED...,而不是OF FIVE HUNDRED...;

3.应该用逗号.

我也没有主意了.

我也选E。因为B里面的appeared on earth 是错误的，如果补充全了就成了 living creatures (THAT WERE) appeared on earth have vanished.

17 percent 可以单独作主语。但 in E, Of the five hundred species of living creatures that have appeared on earth, 在此作何成分？

请指点一下。

数量词可以做主语， jerry 的 link 谈及的。

B. 1)  appeared on earth 过去时，说明 所有的 species 已经 appeared 过了，现在都不见了。

          所以就不用说99% 如何如何了吧。

     2) 另外，B 得主语好长，头重脚轻哎。

     3)  99% of  the species 应该好一些。

还是选 E 吧。

我支持E. B除了头重脚轻外,that 分句也修饰不请.

这题我想从时态考虑 , appear 肯定是发生在vanish之前的.我记得有道GWD题也说的两个过去的动作先后的问题, 那题先发生的动作用的是一般过去, 后发生的动作(因为可能还没结束),所以用的是现在完成. 也就是B 的形式.

但是B 的appeared 修饰是有点容易起歧义, 但我认为分词做定语如果没有逗号隔开, 应该是优先修饰紧接着的N, 也就是creature.

E 中的that 是修饰creature的. E 中的the 用的很规范. 但我觉得E 的时态不能体现appear在vanish之前的意思.

既然是选最佳答案而不是perfect答案, 就是找个错误轻点的.

我得看看能不能找到那GWD题.

B改为说一件事： 99％某某情况的物种消失了

而E，保持了原文的意思。所以选E
