因為要找一個能和less lending (by commercial banks to developing courtries)平衡的短語

所以就是increased preasure (on multigovernment lenders to supply the funds.)兩者中間加一個and

準確平衡less lending與increased preasure

首先, the 放在 increasing pressure 前,代表:前面有提过一些pressure的type, 而现在为了说是其中某些type,所以前面加 the 来限定是前面提过的pressure 的type中的某一些.

再者, increasing 此处用得不好,因为increasing有＂持续一段时间的增加＂的意涵,如: increasing demand. 但此处句意是说:一家国内最大的银行所做承认损失的＂决定＂,意味着商业银行对发展中国家较少的贷款及＂增加的压力＂在这些multigovernment lenders身上,迫使其提供资金. 这个压力只是银行决定所造成的一个结果,而不是已经持续一段期间的压力上升,句意不相同,比较抽象难懂.

动名词确实有表示动作一直持续的含义。

这里, "increasing"应是现在分词, 而不是动名词. increasing pressure 这里有pressure is increasing的意思.

现在分词表示所修饰人或物的动作, 而动名词不是
