谁能帮忙翻译一下这句话阿？看不明白：（ dispute是什么词性阿/

见上句子结构，disputes 这里是名词。amounted to 是谓语动词。amount to 与 a sum 语义重复。lower 是长度概念：比…矮；比…短；less 是数量概念：比…少。
P.S. 刚刚发现OG还有一条解释很重要：lower 是形容词，不可以做介词 to 的宾语。而less 这里是名词词性，可以做介词的宾语。

我也看了og的解释了，只是我对它说的lower是adj. 而less是n. 的解释还是有点不明白

如果这里是因为less是n.而选择它，那less这个名词后面跟than 合适吗？

其实我觉得less than one percent整个做amount的宾语很合适啊，排除lower而选择less是由于意思的差别，就象LES解释的一样

不知道有什么新发现，up.

这个发现可否用来解释E的错误？

og只说E 笨拙和不清晰，但是从结来看，排除sum的redundant表达， verb+a+adj.er n我觉得这个结构挺简洁地道的。不明白ets为什么不喜欢？？？

如果像les说的，to后面不能跟lower E似乎说得过去。可是这里的lower修饰的是名词sum啊？to后面必须直接跟上名词，吗？？不能有一点点修饰成分？比如to better condition？？

不知道我说清楚没有……

对啊，longman dictionary 里面的 “Temperatures will be lower over the weekend.”中lower就表示的是数量或数字啊。 难道是gmat中间lower只能表示：比..矮 或 比..短？ 大家有没有验证过？ 请高手指点。。。
