but sometimes, it prefers more concise expression.

here:

( i thought it could drive ambiguous because could be 'will do' , could be 'will have done', even could be 'will be doing')

(E) as Halley’s comet will do

(i thought 'will do' here is better than D)

如果E变成了as Halley’s comet will ,即去掉结尾的do,是不是正确的呢.

不明白为什么D中要来个倒装.....

168题里的倒装比较容易理解, 因为a quake后面有一串长长的修饰语(of comparable magnitude occurring in the West), 如果按正常语序把will放在最后, 则名词和谓语之间相隔太远.

我不明白的是, 本题中的结构原本就很简单, 为什么D项还要倒装?
