答案是A。我是用排除法做的，BCDE都可以很清楚排除掉，可是总感觉A中 never were的用法别扭。请问是never were sold还是were never sold？可以用never were吗？

never were是一种强调的表示方式吧！
这题的思路或许是这样的，
首先难到完整从句被一个due to 界词引入的词组化开，立刻跳过找后句动词，
前头products为复数，优先找复数动词，删除BC
E 中，发现they可以指products又可以指publishers，疑词不用，去！
D 中，that 从句成名词性，但主词却与that前重复，可能是一种避免模糊的写法，也可能是坠字，保留。
A 中，删除D中的 the products，但从句意中估出were sold的是物，不会是人，因此判断that已靠近products，不需再重复了！选A。
