A中these指代为什么没有问题,而B中they就指代不清呢? 请各位来指点一下.看了以前的讨论,好象并没有解释清楚.these的用法

A中的these不能说指代没有问题。只是相对于其他选项来说，A的错误是属于有效性错误，而非语法错误。其他选项的错误都是致命的，比如DE的逻辑意思错误，BC的比较不对等等等……

代词指代我认为不能作为排除选项的第一步，当然明显的指代错误除外。仔细体会。

See the modifier "Besides adding complementary flavors to many foods" in the begining of the sentence, we know that the subject of the sentence should be "hot sauce". So we narrow the answers to A and B. "just as exercise does" is much clearer than "like exercise", becase "like exercise" follows 3 nouns "brain","endorphins", and "hot cause". It's not clear which one it is modifying.

A is the best choice. "these" means the first part of the sentence.
