Since the enrolment is quite large for MBA, applicants from Beida, qinghua may have some edge, but not huge. But for some phd programs, US schools traditionally recruit students from several famous universities because they do not want to run the risk of having a try of some less prestigious universities. Anyhow, if you believe you are among the best in your alma mater, and are able to compete, in terms of gmat, w/e, with students from top universities, I think your chances will not be less than they do. US schools do know that in China people select schools not only for brand name but also for popularity of a certain department. except for some top students from some "hot" departments of top universities, who are really outstanding at enrolment, others are quite similar. good luck! |
