处长或是经理写 recommendation letter 最好?

请谁写 recommendation letter 最好?
到底是请我的处长 (Director)写或是部经理 (Department Manager) 写好呢?
有人说找 direct supervisor , 也就是部经理写..较好, 因为他是我的 direct supervisor...最知道我的 performance...
真的官位大对 recommendation letter 并没有显着的帮助吗?

Don't go with titles. Choose people who can write about your accomplishments and growth in great details.

It would be great if you can find someone with good title and knows you well, but most of the time, the rule of thumb is go with someone that can write strong and convincing recommendations and gives specific examples of your development instead of someone with a big title only.
