加拿大queen's MBA + 面经+低GMAT [2012-03-10]

高中后来的加拿大， 在这里已经生活10年了。GMAT 590。 Queen's 在加拿大是Tier 1的学校，平均GMAT 670. Average range 580-760. 既然Queen's 说GMAT只是Application的一部分，如果Candidate觉得自己其他方面比较强，学校鼓励申请。 这是他们MBA二把手对我说的。 前天去了Kingston for Campus Visit， 24小时之后被录取。以下是面试问题：

1. why queen? why now?
2. What made you want to work in the Canadian mining industry 3 years ago?
3. What can you contribute to your team at Queen's?
4. What can you contribute to Queen's after school activities?
5. Why did always you conduct job hunting through networking and cold calling?
6. Why did Goldcorp's VP Investor Relations agree to meet with you for an informational interview?
7. What do you think of the social responsibility of mining companies in China and in Canada?
8. You mentioned that the experience of your last co-op made you feel you were part of Canada. Did you feel that you didn't have in-depth knowlege of both China and Canada?
9. let's talk about your GMAT
10. Your life seems to be very busy because I see that you volunteered for politicians and etc. What would you like to do in your leisture time?

My turn to ask questions:
1. What's the percentage of Queen's female students of 2012 program?
2. Detailed structure of your team-based learning approach?
3. Unlimited access to your personal coaching services?
4. When will you make a decision on my application?
这中间又聊了一下我和父母十年中只呆在一起3个月，希望给父母搬移民。 面试人Associate Director表示很同情, 同时也表达了他就觉得我在这10年中achieve 了很多。。。

面试前， 又跟DEAN聊了一下加拿大mining industry.

然后让我参加了organizational behavior 的课，还把我介绍给了教授。中午在pub和2个MBA女生吃的饭， Queen's 安排的，并拿了钱。下午见了Career associate director, 然后离开了Queen's。 出租车费Queen's 拿的。

每个人对我都很热情。感觉学校很注重networking and soft skills. leadership through motivation, and team-based learning approach. 学校离多伦多2.5小时火车。 Kingston 很小。Queen's 占此城的2/3。

我打中文很慢，下面的就用英文写喽。

1. Communications degree from Canada's comprehensive #1 university
2. Communications co-op degree (found all 5 co-op jobs on my own)
3. Canadian Securities Course (加拿大股票证）
4. Canadian investment industry code and conduct handbook (投资业道德准则考试）
5. 2 years of experience in marketing for one of Vancouver's largest entertainment company （5 subsidiaries)
6. 3 years of investor relations for canadian mining companies traded on TSXV and TSX, travelling across North America for roadshows and conferences
7. China invested over 4 billions into Canadian mining over the last 4 years
8. Canada is big on mining and only 14% women in mining
9. all my references are written VPs or CEOs who have known me for over 2 years and provided detailed answers to each question
10. Team leader of 6 campaigns as the only 2nd language speaker
