大范围问题：对于og的解释要不要彻头彻尾按照它的逻辑？ps：解题越多对于这个问题更纠结

记得在某个帖子中看到过og的解释不能照搬，好像是A team给出的。。。（具体是什么原因不记得，就是og解释不能百分百相信。切记：是解释不是答案）
例如：og13-17
Sunspots, vortices of gas associated with strong electromagnetic activity, are visible as dark spots on the surface of the Sun but have never been sighted on the Sun’s poles or equater.

(A) are visible as dark spots on the surface of the Sun but have never been sighted on
(B) are visible as dark spots that never have been sighted on the surface of the Sun
(C) appear on the surface of the Sun as dark spots although never sighted at
(D) appear as dark spots on the surface of the Sun, although never having been sighted at
(E) appear as dark spots on the Sun's surface, which have never been sighted on
本人爱钻牛角尖，又容易被哄来哄去。像og中对于E的解释就是somewhat awkward and unclear，就觉得它的意思是：E选项中的错误不在于which修饰，而是语感问题。然后。。。就开始纠结了。
og当中和所知语言点不一致的地方也不少，想知道大家是怎么看待这个问题的呢？想按照自己的解释，又觉得og这个模范不能抛弃。求解求解！！！

拿这题来说，以下全文引用我认为精华所在的OG解释第一段：
The correct parallel structure in the original sentence emphasizes the contrast between where sunspots are found (are visible … Sun) and where they are not (have never been sighted … equator). Sunspots is the subject of the sentence; are is the verb of the first part of the contrast, and have been sighted is the verb of the second. (The adjective visible is a complement and is parallel to the past participle sighted.) Both parts of the sentence conclude with phrases indicating location. The contrast itself is indicated by the conjunction but.



OG说这题考点：Logical predication; Parallelism
看看，有modifier么？也许咱可以modifier帮助我们排除某些个错误选项，但这题modifier根本不是核心！核心问题，上面那段说得很清楚了，是两者对比：
are                                   visible                                     at Location A
have NEVER been              sighted                                   at Location B
对比体现在"but"这词，同时以上对比的双方处于对等地位，因此用到parallel structure，看以上的平行，三部分多么工整啊！（Ron大神说平行就是选美 "parallelism is a beauty contest"）
以上，其他选项都可以排除了，直接就(A)了。


在我看来（我想也是OG第一段所说的意思），CDE都可以以一个理由速度地信心满满地排除：开头的"appear"
"appear as sth"说的是“看起来像什么一样”，能跟"have never been sighted"形成鲜明对照么？不可以。
（题外话：假如你真想把"appear as sth"和什么对照，那对方应该是类似"is actually sth"，也就是看起来咋样和实际咋样形成对比。）
但这题作者本意显然不是我以上yy的对比，作者的本意是“能看见”和“未曾看见”的对比。这是核心逻辑，核心逻辑必须出现在主干上，因此句子的主干就得有"are visible ..."而不是"appear as sth".

所以个人认为，吃透了解释的第一段，这题就done.

关于OG解释，我特认同有位前辈的比方，让我全文引用吧：“最后插一句，OG的解释我到考前才感觉到是多么的精辟，好像一个高手在静静絮絮叨叨诉说自己的体会，真正听得懂的人却不多。我是感觉Prep的很多解释是比较条条框框的那种；而OG的解释则是带着外国人的感情色彩。一开始的时候这种感情让你觉得莫名其妙，你去死磕她甚至会发现会出现自相矛盾的地方。等做到后来你才发现你和她越来越有感觉。做到后来你发现OG每一句话都把你的感觉说出来了，那恭喜你：你大成了。你再回头看原来自己死磕的地方，发现那只是浮云，真正重要的是句子的逻辑，看懂句子在说什么然后选一个表达最清晰的就是了。所以我最后读句子的时候坚持不看选项，避免被错误的带走。” （reference)



我上高中时也有这样的切身体会，做惯了学问的大学化学教授来教我们“小儿科”的中学化学，在黑板上写化学方程式的时候很不讲究，经常是写成这样：
                   cat
主要反应物 --------->主要生成物
                   T,p
换句话说：这个反应方程式可能箭头两边的元素根本就不等，不配平！你如果作为一个初学者，小心翼翼地说“老师您这个方程式没写完整”，跟大教授较真儿，你就输了。人家是“观其大略”——这个方程式的核心的反应物、生成物都在上面，他要讲解这个反应也是以此为蓝本来讲解的，至于加上些无关紧要的物质（比如H2O）然后配平，对于理解这个反应的本质来说，重要么？不重要吧。


OG的解释也是如此，咱想象成一个高手讲道。所以就说我一直坚持认为OG解释的精华在第一段——那里才是开门见山只逼主题告诉你：这话要表达什么意思，这意思该如何表达，这题核心考点是什么. 至于后面的错误选项的解释，经常会很敷衍。你想啊，就好比一个大教授看到咱中学生犯低级错误，在他眼里这错误就是nonsense，就是wordy, 就是awkward...你想让他怎么评点这错误呢？在他看来这错误太egregious了不值得一提！所以咱如果在错误选项上跟OG较真，咱就输了


所以，我个人的建议，看OG仍然要学诸葛亮——“观其大略”。对于OG解释的这些问题要着重看，透彻理解：这话要表达什么意思，这意思该如何表达，这题核心考点是什么. 至于其他，别纠结了。

近来看了下meaning及concision相关内容， 做这题时我就有感觉BCDE都distort愿意了，只有A是最佳的。读懂句意是多么重要啊！继续加油！向baby学习！
