Cooling:
Once the seizure is about to come up, the temperature on brain is rising, and can be detected by the cooling system. The system works and cools the temperature down to prevent the seizure. The development of the cooling system is very promising.

1. E affects millions of Americans—outnumbers P+ S+ ALS. Half of the patients can have the treatment, but one third of people may not be cured. There are three ways to interrupt activities and stop seizure—electronic stimulation, cooling and drug delivery.
2. Because E cause seizure in the brain, so people could use two devices:
1) VNS ? open-loop, it can stimulates vagus nerve, which deliver mild electronic pulse
2) close-loop ? different from VNS, it detect the seizure of the brain.
3. Nowadays, only RNS can be actually used in the treatment.
1) Once it starts, it can detect the seizure of the brain, thus interrupting activities and normalizing area.
2) RNS can be implanted into people’s brain via outpatient surgery, so that it is easy for doctors to change the battery of RNS once it is used up.
3) Up to about 50% patients can be cured. The device can be improved by: refine selection, improve electrode placement and horning the detective process so that the seizure can be detected earlier.

the new way is taken as the close-loop treatment. this treatment requires put a device into patient's brain. it detect seizure in the initial time and take relatively respond to the seizure.

Scientist from several university, such as university of Washiton, contribute to this research.
There are also limitations to the new treatment. for example, not all the seizure happen at the same region of the brain. There are risks too.

There  are also researches for other method. Such as Cooling and the open-loop treatment drugs called DBS. they are have their own advantages comparing to the close-loop treatment.

There is also the next generation research under going. Those researches mainly focus on how to predict the seizure before it actually takes place rather than detect them when they occur.
