lz应该是被"...,were it to grow much larger,..."困惑了。 我认为这是虚拟条件句倒装； 还原为：if it were to grow much larger "甚至一个非常有生态效率的工业系统，如果它发展得更大，就可能比小型经济体产生更多的废物..." 从前后对比项也可看出larger vs smaller，more ecoefficient vs less ecoefficient。
