Government policymakers should consider mandating benefit coverage for temporary employees, promoting pay equity between temporary and permanent workers, assisting labor unions in organizing temporary workers, and encouraging firms to assign temporary jobs primarily to employees who explicitly indicate that preference.

我也先选的E 但是后来看了看 (E) That the number of workers taking temporary positions would increase as more workers in any given demographic group entered the workforce 里说的是 in any given demographic group 但是文章说的是in the workforce by certain groups, such as first-time or reentering workers只是在这些cetain groups里面他们的关系才是成相同趋势
而A中说的是decline就fewer 跟文中的increase就more表达一样的意思 只是说法不一样 这点是GMAC出题最喜欢做的同义替换（大部分文章是同义词替换）

就这个地方比较模糊，explainable ....理解为解释原因，好像有点通了~
因为现在员工进入大部分团体是因为他们更喜欢临时的工作？

注意，还有个定语从句表示是————那些自己认定更喜欢这种安排的工人，加入进来workforce
所以选项中涉及到 工人数量和工人偏好关系的才是正确选项
A就明确表示是那些偏爱短期雇佣的工人数量增加
E是把参加短期雇佣工人的数量和in any given demographic group联系起来了，而in any given demographic group即包括workers who prefer such arrangement也包括workers who do not prefer such arrangement

简单的讲, E就错在ANY这个词上了. 回原文定位到这里 "by certain groups, such as first-time or reentering workers".
