感觉关键是对“not necessarily”在“did not necessarily prefer"的理解，查了一下Longman:possibly, but not certainly.

作者想表达的意思是“在80年代，做临时工的女人有可能是主动（但不确定）去选择，或偏好做临时工的。”-因为数据显示了实际做的人数远远超过那些表示过该倾向的人。

换句话说，在这些做临时工的女人们中，只有部分人表示特愿意，特想做临时工-主动接受。剩下的不prefer或不表态，但生活所迫等等原因还是做了，所以作者用了很真确的didnot necessarily prefer涵盖了各种可能。

挺有道理的。

但是，为什么E选项是和permanent employment相比呢？

全文只提到temporary和permanent 这两种employment。

另外，prefer A to B中A是主要的，知道A更优就行。或当有“not necessary”修饰时，A并非更优就行。

我的想法和你一样的，可是og不是这样解释的，og解释我也没看懂。。

我是用排除法选择出来的E.
看了解释之后,我理解的意思是因为实际做临时工的人数比那些prefer to temporaty jobs的人数要多,所以这其中肯定有一部分是不确定是否prefer temporary employment to permanent employment.

c哪错了？后面说union要组织好这些工人，不就是说之前她们很少involved吗
