“The construction last year of a shopping mall in downtown Oak City was a mistake. Since the mall has opened, a number of local businesses have closed, and the downtown area suffers from an acute parking shortage, and arrests for crime and vagrancy have increased in the nearby Oak City Park. Elm City should pay attention to the example of the Oak City mall and deny the application to build a shopping mall in Elm City.”

1. The locations of these two cities are different, the author cannot make an absolute connection between them.
2. The reasons of failure of the shopping mall can be vary. The local bussiness have closed may due to other internal reasons, such as their own poor operations of business, and the parking shortage is probably due to the shortage of budget of transportation government.
3. One shopping mall's failure cannot conclude another shopping mall's failure in ELm city.

P:A milepost shows "21" facing the hiker and "23" behind the hiker, so the hiker assumes 21 means half way, and 23 means the distant left.
C: However, the next forward milepost shows"20" facing the hiker and "24" behind the hiker.
R: The hiker actually has 20miles to go and has finished 24 miles already.
A: C
(A) The numbers on the next milepost had been reversed.-->reversing number would not make any changes, 24,20would not explain the hiker's reasoning.
(8) The numbers on the mileposts indicate kilometers, not miles.
-->this is irrelevant!
(e) The facing numbers indicate miles to the end of the path, not miles from the beginning.

--> correct!
(O) Amilepost was missing between the two the hiker encountered.

--> if a milepost was missing, then the number should be 23, 21.
(E) The mileposts had originally been put in place for the use of mountain bikers, not for hikers.

--> this argument talks about hikers, not the bikers.

P: The mice can produce the antibody to destroy the virus, but the mice infected with a disease of eye, and the part of eye infection has proteins resembles to the protein on the H.
C: So the scientists argued that this eye disease caused by the antibody.
S: The mice without producing anti-body cannot create eye disease.
A: D
(A) Other types of virus have surface proteins that closely resemble proteins found in various organs of mice.
-->we are not talking about other types of virus.
(8) There are mice that are unable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and thesemice
contract herpes at roughly the same rate as othermice.

-->如果不能form untibody,却还能有这种疾病的话,就可能不是antibody的原因了。
(e) Mice that are infected with a herpesvirus but do not develop keratitis produce as many antibodies as
infected mice that do develop keratitis.

--〉一样有antibody,但是却没有develop K 就说明有他因!
(D) There are mice that areunable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and these mice
survive these infections without ever developing keratitis.

---〉有些不能form antibody的老鼠是从不会develop K disease是正确俄!
(E) Mice that have never been infected with a herpesvirus can sometimes develop keratitis.

--〉weaken,同C和D他因

P: The step by step decision making was used to be better than the intuitive decision making.
C: However, it indicates that the intuitive decision making is better than the step-by step decision making because more top managers use it.
A: These top managers who use intuitive decision making are more effective than the middle and lower managers.
A: E
(A) Methodical, step-by-step reasoning is inappropriate for making many real-life management decisions.
-->we are talking about the intuitive decision making is better here, not the step-by-step one.
(8) Top managers have the ability to use either intuitive rea soning or methodical, step-by-step reasoning in
making decisions .

-->there's no change or difference if the top managers can use either of them.
(e) The decisions made bymiddle- and lower-level managers can be made as easilyby using methodical
rea soning as by using intuitive reasoning.

-->this is to weaken the argument.
(0) Top managers use intuitive reasoning in making the majority of their decisions.

-->it does not mention if this reasoning is effective or not.
(E) Top managers are more effective at decision making than middle- or lower-level managers.

-->correct!

P: The farmers are urged to plant different crops each year, otherwise, the pesticide used for crops will pollute the water.
C: However, the government only give support to farmers who produce the same crops for past several years.
C: The farmers would not get support from the government if they obey the rule.
A: ~~A
(Al The rules for governmental support of farm prices work against efforts to reduce water pollution.
-->这句话刚开始看错了!应该就是两个互相conflict的!
(B) The only solution to the problemof water pollution from fertilizers and pesticides is to take farmland out of
production.

-->take farmland out is not inferred here.
(e) Farmers can continue to make a profit by rotating diverse crops, thus reducing costs for chemicals, but
not by planting the same crop each year.

-->against the premise 2.
(D) New farming techniques will be developed to make it possible for farmers to reduce the application of
fertilizers and pesticides.

-->new farming techniques is not mentioned here.
(E) Governmental price supports for farm products are set at levels that are not high enough to allowfarmers to get out of debt.

-->debt is not mentioned here.

The following editorial appeared in the Elm City paper.

1. there is no reason to believe that the open of shopping mall lead to the shortage of the parking lot and the increased crime rate. there may some other reasons.
2.there are many differences between the O City and the E City, we can not assume what happened to O will also happened to E.
3.the thing happened last year can not guarantee it will also happen in  the future.

A milepost —— facing the hiker :21——behind:23
So the next milepost means the hiker is in the middle point
But the next milepost ——facing the hiker:20 ——behind:24

The antibodies are binding to proteins to protect
Mice infected h develop k, k affect eyes
Surface of eye cells is similar to h surface, so k is caused by antibodies ——protecting the eye cell

Traditionally   step-by-step>intuitive
Recently       top managers use intuitive more
So intuitive > step-by-step
