今天咱就拿语法分册得来练练~~~

62. In response to viral infection, the immune systems of mice typically produce antibodies that destroy the virus by binding to proteins on its surface.  Mice infected with a herpesvirus generally develop keratitis, a degenerative disease affecting part of the eye.  Since proteins on the surface of cells in this part of the eye closely resemble those on the herpes virus surface, scientists hypothesize that these cases of keratitis are caused by antibodies to herpesvirus.
Which of the following, if true, gives the greatest additional support to the scientists’ hypothesis?

A.Other types of virus have surface proteins that closely resemble proteins found in various organs of mice.
B.There are mice that are unable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and these mice contract herpes at roughly the same rate as other mice.
C.Mice that are infected with a herpesvirus but do not develop keratitis produce as many antibodies as infected mice that do develop keratitis.
D. There are mice that are unable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and these mice survive these infections without ever developing keratitis.
E. Mice that have never been infected with a herpesvirus can sometimes develop keratitis.

51. Acompany plans to develop a prototype weeding machine that uses cutting blades with optical sensors and
microprocessors that distinguish weeds from crop plants by differences in shade of color. The inventor of the
machine claims that it will reduce laborcosts by virtually eliminating the need for manual weeding.
Which of the following is a consideration in favor of the company's implementing its plan to develop the prototype?

(A) There is a considerable degree of variation in shade of color between weeds of different species.
(B) The shade of color of some plants tends to change appreciably over the course of their growing season.
(C) When crops are weeded manually, overall size and leaf shape are taken into account in distinguishing crop plants from weeds.
(D) Selection and genetic manipulation allow plants of virtually any species to be economically bred to have a distinctive shade of color without altering their other characteristics.
(E) Farm laborers who are responsible for the manual weeding of crops carry out other agricultural duties at times in the growing season when extensive weeding is not necessary.

60. Thetobacco industry is still profitable and projections are that it will remainso. In the United States this year, the total amount of tobacco sold by tobaccofarmers

has increased, even though the number of adults who smokehas decreased.
Each of the following, if true, could explain the simultaneousincrease in tobacco sales and decrease in the number of adults who smoke EXCEPT:

(A) Duringthis year, the number of women who have begun to smoke is greater than thenumber of men who have quit smoking.
(B) The numberof teenage children who have begun to smoke this year is greater than thenumber of adults who have quit smoking during the same period.
(C) During this year, the number of nonsmokerswho have begun to use chewing tobacco or snuff is greater than the number ofpeople who have quit smoking.
(D) The peoplewho have continued to smoke consume more tobacco per person than they did inthe past.
(E) More ofthe cigarettes made in the United States this year were exported to othercountries than was the case last year.

49. Division manager: I want to replace the Microton computers in my division with Vitech computers.
General manager: Why?
Division manager: It costs 28 percent less to train new staff on the Vitech.
General manager: But that is not a good enough reason. We can simply hire only people who already know how to use the Microton computer.
Which of the following, if true, most seriously undermines the general manager’s objection to the replacement of Microton computers with Vitechs?

(A) Currently all employees in the company are required to attend workshops on how to use Microton computers in new applications.
(B) Once employees learn how to use a computer, they tend to change employers more readily than before.
(C) Experienced users of Microton computers command much higher salaries than do prospective employees who have no experience in the use of computers.
(D) The average productivity of employees in the general manager’s company is below the average productivity of the employees of its competitors.
(E) The high costs of replacement parts make Vitech computers more expensive to maintain than Microton computers.

“The Cumquat Cafe made a mistake in moving to a newlocation. After one year at the new spot, it is doing about the same volume ofbusiness as before, but the owners of the RoboWrench plumbing supply wholesaleoutlet that took over its old location are apparently doing better: RoboWrenchis planning to open a store in a neighboring city.”

The following appeared as part of an article in the business section of a local newspaper.

>45s
P: The antibody can bind proteins on the surface to destroy virus.
P: The virus of mice has developed disease K on its eye.
C: K is caused by antibody because the protein resembles the same.
S: Fill gap (想不出来啥原因)
A
D. There are mice that are unable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and these mice survive these infections without ever developing keratitis.
(题目不难,逻辑难,一看生物方面的CR脑袋就大!D用反面例子证明没有antibody的mice是不会develop K的,正好strengthen)

30s
P: The weeding machine can help distinguish the color shades of weeds.
C: The weeding machine can reduce labor costs and replace manual weeding.
S: Make an example...
A: D
(D) Selection and genetic manipulation allow plants of virtually any species to be economically bred to have a distinctive shade of color without altering their other characteristics.
(犹豫了,最后选了D,理由应该是其他的characteristics都不在考虑范围内的话,只需要考虑color shades of weeds,那么就可以用weeding machine了)

22s
P: Tobacco sales is profitable.
C: Tobacco sales has been increased while the adult smokers number has been decreased.
E: Tobacco has been exported to other countries.
A: A
(A) During this year, the number of women who have begun to smoke is greater than the number of men who have quit smoking.
(这两个比较不能说明问题,women who have begun to smoke和已经戒烟的men不能说明吸烟人数减少)

20s
P: The division manager wants to replace Vtech computer because the labor cost will be decreased, but the general manager thinks that they need to train new employees.
P: The division manager opposed it by pointing that they can hire people who know how to use Vtech computer.
W: To hire new people, the company needs to pay more than the labor cost that can be saved.
A: C
(C) Experienced users of Microton computers command much higher salaries than do prospective employees who have no experience in the use of computers.
(总算和我assume的一样了)

1. 37s
premise: the proteins in eyes resemble the proteins on the H virus.
Thus, antibodies mistakenly destroy the proteins in eyes just as they destroy the proteins on the H virus.
conclusion: K is caused by antibodies to H virus
Support:
the mice that has no H virus does not have K dicease.
D

2. 58s
a weeding machine can cut ... with ..., and distinguish weeds from corp plants by the shade of color.
Conclusion: the machine will help to cut costs.
Support:
The corp plants will not change to a degree that the machine can't identify its identical color.

the Division manager wants to replace M with V computers.
